What to expect when volunteering with us:
Volunteering with us at LYCC can mean a number of things. Although we try to match each volunteer’s interests and strengths to our requirements, we often also need general help. This can include help with our youth clubs, summer camps, website and social media platforms, IT support, and caretaking duties to name but a few.
In turn LYCC will give volunteers training, support and supervision and volunteers will be valued as part of the organisation
Here’s some examples of what each volunteer role entails . . . . . . .
- Caretaking Volunteer
Evening/weekend work, assisting with operation of the Centre, room setups, security, lockups
- Youth Club Volunteer
Supporting the operation of weekly clubs, working with young people, assisting with our activities. We also take on young people aged 16+ as youth room assistants
- Coffee Shop Volunteer
Morning work, assisting with the preparation and service of hot drinks and snacks to customers
- Trustee / Committee Member Volunteer
Attending monthly meetings, give your views, help make decisions + implement plans for the Centre
Volunteering benefits everyone; the individuals who do it, the organisation that they work in and its users. It also benefits the wider community and environment.
