We are inviting the people of Leixlip to come along on Saturday 29th November from 2-4pm to see what the Youth Clubs at the Leixlip Youth & Community Centre have to offer.

Young people and parents will have an opportunity to view the Centre and its facilities, and to meet with the Youth Workers and friendly staff, and find out about what goes on at the Clubs. Membership forms will also be available on the day.

There are a variety of activities on offer at the clubs which are aimed to suit the different needs and interests of those in 5th and 6th Class right up to those in Second level e.g. – youth room hang out space, sports hall, cookery, crafts, and outings.

LYCC are recipients of a Dublin Bus Community Spirit Award 2014.  LYCC are among 86 community and voluntary groups across the Greater Dublin Area who were awarded grants under the Dublin Bus Community Spirit Awards 2014, and the only recipients from Leixlip.   In recognition and support of our work in our local community, we have been awarded a grant of €1000 toward the installation of new iPads for our youth club and also to run a programme of Internet Safety Talks for parents and young people.

The first internet safety talk, which is due to take place in January is entitled ‘What Every Parent Needs to Know’, and will consist of a talk followed by a Q&A session. Topics covered include: current internet safety concerns, resources available to parents, keys to internet safety, practical tips, social media apps and sites, web security, parental controls, tools to aid internet safety, next steps in keeping your family safe online.

The talk is free and is open to all interested parents, however places are limited so booking is required.   Parents will have an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming Internet Safety Talks at the Open Day on Sat 29th November.
